Este medicamento se utiliza principalmente para el tratamiento de la hipertensión arterial (presión alta). El telmisartán es un antagonista de los receptores de angiotensina II (ARA-II) que actúa relajando y ensanchando los vasos sanguíneos, lo que ayuda a reducir la presión arterial y disminuir la carga de trabajo del corazón.
