Inhaladores de HFA en lugar de inhaladores de CFC
Albuterol Inhalers
HFA: do not harm the environment
Replaced albuterol inhalers CFC (chlorofluorocarbon) inhalers by
HFA (hydrofluoroalkane). The CFC and HFA propellants are sprayed albuterol help to
their lungs. The HFA is more environmentally friendly (does not harm the environment) and is replacing.CFCs worldwide. This change does not affect the effectiveness of its albuterol inhaler.
You must remember this about HFA inhalers:
1. HFA inhalers have a softer spray
The HFA inhaler has a softer spray and is warm, and might have a different taste . Although the spray does not feel so strong, the drug works as well as the
old inhaler.
2. Clean your inhaler regularly, prepare it as you would use it for
first time and occasionally
• It is important to wash the mouthpiece of the inhaler at least once
a week to prevent clogging.
• The first time you use the inhaler with HFA must
prepare it. Again, need to prepare, if more of
two weeks since the last time you used it. The back of this
page for instructions on how to prepare and wash the
inhale.
3. Keep track of the puffs
Keep track of your breaths, lest they run out of their rescue medication. Count
the number of inhalations you use-even inhalations used to prepare
albuterol inhaler-in a notebook, calendar, or dose record card, for example
(See back page). When you reach 200 breaths, begin using a
new inhaler. Most inhalers dispense air even after the completion of the
medication, so it is best to rely on counting breaths.
If you are using albuterol more than two days a week (except before exercise),
talk to your doctor about making changes in your medication. When your asthma is well controlled,
feel better and enjoy life more.
