A.F. Valdecasas is a therapeutic dose folic acid (vitamin B9) supplement, indicated for the prevention and treatment of folate deficiency. Folic acid is essential for DNA synthesis, red blood cell formation, and proper neural tube development during pregnancy. It helps prevent megaloblastic anemia and congenital central nervous system defects.
Indications: Prevention of neural tube defects in pregnant women or women of reproductive age, treatment of anemia due to folate deficiency, supplementation in states of increased nutritional demand.
Dosage: The dose should be indicated by a healthcare professional according to the condition to be treated. Generally 1 tablet daily or as prescribed by a physician.
Contraindications: Known hypersensitivity to folic acid. It should not be used as the sole treatment for pernicious anemia without vitamin B12 supplementation.
