CONTRAINDICATIONS:
q Hypersensitivity to timolol maleate and / or any component of the formula.
q Timolol is contraindicated in individuals with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchial asthma, sinus bradycardia, congestive heart failure, atrioventricular block second and third grade.
CAUTIONS: The b-blocking agents have potential effects on blood pressure and pulse, so that should be used with caution in patients with cerebrovascular insufficiency.
PRECAUTIONS OR RESTRICTIONS OF USE DURING PREGNANCY OR BREASTFEEDING: IMOT OFTEN should be used during pregnancy and lactation only under strict medical supervision. Because the drug has the potential for serious adverse reactions to the infant, must decide whether to discontinue nursing or application of medication. The doses above 1 drop of IMOT OPTH ® every12 hours has generally not been shown to produce a greater reduction in intraocular pressureand may increase the possibility of occurrence of adverse effects. If the intraocular pressuredoes not drop to a satisfactory level under this system, you can add other ocular hypotensivedrugs such as pilocarpine (Pil OPTH ®), alpha agents nonselective and selective agonists,prostaglandins and synthetic derivatives of topical and systemic inhibitors of the enzymeanhydrase ice.
